Being late to introduce oneself

Hello everyone. I have a question.

Is it correct to say "I'm sorry for being late to introduce myself" to mean the same thing as "I'm sorry for not introducing myself earlier"?

seagull Is it correct to say "I'm sorry for being late to introduce myself" to mean the same thing as "I'm sorry for not introducing myself earlier"? It doesn't mean the same thing. I suggest: I'm sorry for being remiss in not introducing myself.
