Be~ing form

Hi

I have some questions about using 'be ~ing form' for example I'm going to school.

'Go' is possible to use '~ing form' (progressive).

Because 'GO' is action verbs which i can see somebody doing.

and action verbs can be used in '~ing form'.

'start,change,become...'verbs is not action verb which i can't see somebody doing.

But 'start, change' is possible to use '~ing form'

ex) Is your English getting better?

? I can't see your english getting better.

Why are 'start,change..'verbs possible to use 'ing form'?

You can see something start and change , too, but that's not the point. It is the linking verbs and the verbs of sense ( taste, smell, feel , etc) that generally use present simple for current activity instead of the progressive form-- but even they can be cast into progressive sometimes when the condition is of particular interest or concern.
