Being exposed to English with no classroom instruction

Hello teachers!

First, I apologize that it's not sth to be corrected or reviewed (I believe there are ingrammatical sentences for sure) but I have a question for you, English speakers.

Whether you are a native or not, I want to hear your opinions about my situation.

I have a 6year-old-nephew and the parents are planning to send him to USA to educate him the langauge. I see the point because English is becoming more important lg in the world. But the thing is I'm really worried due to his age. Would it be ok if he were just exposed to English with no classroom instruction ? He may go to kindergarten or care center but not a lg institute. What would be pros and cons to send him in his early time?

(I surely believe that his fluency must be far better than those who studied in my hometown)

Appreciate for your help in advance!

He needs to go early otherwise once he starts school, if his English isn't as good as the other students he could fall behind in other subjects because of his understanding of explainations etc in the classroom. He might not be able to make up the gap. At an early age he will have much more chance to catch up.
