Are these sentences correct with the given meanings:

1-He thought that they could be trusted, being a bit naive.
Meaning: He thought that they could be trusted, as he was a bit naive.

2-They treated him as if he were their savior, being a bit naive.
Meaning: They treated him as if he were their savior, because they were a bit naive.
