Being

I saw the following sentence in a German magazine:
Some places, they call it a rodeo.
Here, they call it a cowboy being a cowboy.

My problem is this "being" in the second sentence. I would have written the sentence like this:
Here, they call it a cowboy who is a cowboy.

Hi,

a cowboy being a cowboy. Means he is performing as or showing the nature of a cowboy. Perhaps there was another cowboy there who was not being a cowboy. People thought this second guy was an accountant.

Clive Usually, I take off the lampshade and get off the table at that point.

To get the proper effect, you have to be dancing on a table. Otherwise, it's silly.
