0 I have to agree that Beijing opera is really a significant culture of china, and popular through all the mainland. But for generations of 70/80/90, less and less persons like watching Beijing opera, say nothing of learning it. What's happened to the native opera? I think the reason is ' I don't understand what they play about'. Personally, I don't like watching Beijing opera, for I can't hear
Peking Opera has its own audience, the amount of which is not large. And if eventually it fades away, it must be the natural selection. I believe it is better to let nature take its course.
Saving Peking Opera for Peking Opera's sake does little, if any, good.
