Behind Blue Eyes
When I look in the mirror
What do I see?
Do I see a young girl?
Do I see the blonde hair, rosy cheeks?
Do I look for more, some substance,some purpose?
Do I see the hardships, pain, sorrow
Deep in those blue eyes?
Do I see the joy of my life, the friends, the family?
Do I see the future bright and clear?
*Look deep now!
Fear not!
Go deeper than appearance!
There is strength in those eyes,
A will of iron and steel,
A softness, a kind but blatant honesty.
I see the life I made,
The life I live, the good the bad,
The choices that have led me here.
I know I will be strong.
I hope I will be good.
For in myself I see
The will of ages past,
The hope for ages future.
I look in the mirror
And I see Myself.
And I am free.
i cant decide which i like better so heres a different option for after the starred line:
*Do I see kindness,
Good will toward man?
Do I see knowledge,
A chance to cause a change?
Do I see the past,
Remember it always?
Do I see hope,
Faith that tomorrow will shine?
Do I see strength,
Calm and cool?
Do I see confidnce,
in those eyes of mine,
A plan, a purpose, a dream?
When I look behind thoses eyes of mine,
I see Myself,
And I believe.
