I wanted to ask, if it allowed to use behaviour in the plural, and if, when is it allowed? For instance, is it allowed to say "The parents should be tolerant of the emotions and behaviours caused by stress.".

Although much more related to psychology, "behavours" is accepted. There's nothing wrong with it as far as I know.
