Letter Writing

Beginning a request letter

Hello,

I am drafting a letter to primary schools asking them if they would be kind enough to allow me to come in to their school and let some of their pupils take part in an experiment, the results of which will go towards my dissertation project. I obviously have to be very polite in this letter!

My Tutor/supervisor has done a cover letter for me that begins:
----------------------------------------
Dear Head Teacher

I am writing to you to request your kind permission to allow some of you pupils to take part in..............

--------------------------

But, hang on, this is exactly what I want to say in MY letter. I don't want to look like I can't think of my own words, but how do I repeat this phrase using different wording to open my letter?

Thank you for your help.
