Beginner's American History

Hi,

I would like learning the basics of American History. But would you say this book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beginners-American-History-H-Montgomery/dp/142802025X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314432783&sr=8-1 is historically acurate enough? It is published in 1902 or something, and I am wondering if that is okay?

If it is not a good book, please recommend me another one.

Thank you

Mr. S.

It is seems to be strange that the history can be out of date...

but anyway you can be right in some extent as the history is used to form the social mind(public opinion) so that the several facts may be set forth as they were interpreted in 1898...

I don't suppose there are many historians here... as for me you should better use
