Before the Middle Ages

Hi everybody,

Could you say me the name of the period before the Middle Ages? The dates of its beginning and end shows some differences. Let's suppose that the Middle Ages started in 476 AD.

I tried to find it in Wikipedia but it showed me "Ancient History". This doesn't contain the word 'ages'. Is there a name for it? Maybe I shouldn't look for this 'ages' in the name of these ages. I don't know.

Maybe: Prehistoric Times - Ancient Times - The Middle Ages - ....?

Maybe it is taught someway else in UK and US. I really don't know. We call it 'Ókor' in Hungary and it is (approximately) from 3500 BC to 476 AD.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hole One a New See 3500 BC to 476 AD I don't believe that English has a single term for that period. It extends from the beginnings of Western civilization (in Egypt) to the fall of the Roman Empire.
