Been struggling with the paragraph....

The first one is introductory, and I think is okay. It's the second one that needs help (he hopes):

"It's more likely to be a tug boat," said Edward. "And we'll be spending more than enough money in France." He had no intention of hiring a yacht, and kept his voice down.

Rupert was grateful for France's proximity to England (despite his dislike of the French lessons he had to take in school) and for the prospect of seeing his parents at the end of term. Their typically transcontinental endevours meant that they were often away from the country, and he was looking forward to the fieldwork that might be taking place. He would deal with his cousin's participation in the visit as well as he could, and tucked the coffer under his arm. A more thorough examination of its contents would have to wait until the others had gone back to whatever it was that they did. He walked up the stairs, and into his bedroom.
