Been skiing gone skiing

Hello
I wish I had gone skiing more often last winter.
I wish I had been skiing more often last winter.
Is it correct to say both of the above?
And does last winter mean last year's (201/11) winter or the one that has just finished (2011/12)?
Appreciate any help
Philip

Yes.
They really mean the same thing. In this case, "had been skiing" is NOT an example of past continuous tense, as in "I had been skiing all day long."
