Someone at the gym was yelling at me, saying that I've been using the treadmill for too long. I say:

Sorry, I couldn't hear you. I've been listening to music the whole time.

Or

SOrry, I couldn't hear you. I was listening to music the whole time.

Is this sentence okay?
