Become

Hi,

Can you say:

I was able to get issue number one and become a fan and follower ever since.

Shouldn't it be became?

Thanks.

You cannot use either verb form with 'ever since' in that way. 'Fan' = 'follower'. I was able to get issue number one and have been a fan ever since.
