Hi
I am currently busy with postgraduate studies in Old Testament (Hebrew Bible) and therefore also the Biblical Hebrew language. I have come across an expression that I find difficult to make sense of exactly. Essentially, it appears to have a structure similar to the (colloquial?) English expression "because why? ... because".
My question therefore is: How exactly does the expression "because why" differ from only "why" or only "because" ? What is its meaning or the reasoning that underlies it exactly? It seems to me that it somehow combines the question as to reason/cause (why) with the statement of reason/cause (because). But I am struggling to understand how these two elements contribute to each other to form a meaning that is different from their separate meanings.
Thank you in advance!
