Because

Is there anything improper about starting a sentence in a written document with the word "because?"

Top answer

It is very highly suspect. 'Because' normally links to a previous statement too closely to separate them with a full stop.

I don't argue with MrM. However, it is often done. One must be careful to have a complete clause following 'because'.

Because of all you have done for me, I am offering this little bouquet of flowers. = I am offering this little bouquet of flowers because of all you have done for me. [Notice the comma in the first sentence!]
