I was asked to write a description of Beaver Creek. I have done so but I am not sure. Dearest Native Speakers, please read it and suggest your improvements - any help will be greatly appreciated:
General info
Beaver Creek is a popular American ski resort neighboring Avon, Colorado, at a height of 2500 m above sea level. The first settlement there was founded as early as in 1881, and the ski resort was launched in the eighties of the 20
th century, attracting a good deal of investment to boost its tourist facilities. The mountain village where the resort is located has all it takes to have a wonderful rest. It has hosted the FIS World Cup downhill race on an annual basis and twice - in 1989 and 1999 - became a home to the FIS World Ski Championships. Beaver Creek attracts numerous skiers with its large number of sunny days, and free-riding enthusiasts find the average thickness of snow cover during the riding season (7.9 m) quite suitable. World's most daredevil skiing track - Birds of Prey Descent - is popular with skiing professionals, where they train for international competitions. There are ski schools for both children and adults, necessary equipment is always available for rent and kids are always welcome at an amusement park arranged in an Indian village style.

The ski season at Beaver Creek resort begins in mid-November and winds up in April.

Slopes, runs, and lifts
Beaver Creek is equipped with 148 ski runs of various complexity:
- 19% of 'green' runs suitable for family skiing - the trails for children and beginners
- 43% of 'blue' runs for intermediates
- 38% of 'black' runs for moguls and professional skiers
The elevation change of the slopes is 990 m and the length of the longest run is 4.43 km. Mountain peaks can be reached with 17 lifts, namely 10 Quad-type speed lifts, two high-speed Gondola lifts, three-seat chair lifts and three two-seat chair list. The total transfer capacity of all the lifts is 25,939 people per hour.
Pricing
Prices at Beaver Creek are remarkably high - a ski pass for adults will set you back 73$ a day, for children - 42$ a day, discounts are available for five-day passes.
Transfer route to Beaver Creek
The nearest regional airport is located in the town of Eagle, which is a 25-minute-drive from the ski resort, but it accepts charter flights only. The international airport is situated in Denver, 200 km away from Beaver Creek, and there is a regular coach line between the airport and the village, as well as taxi and car hire services.
Other sports
Beaver Creek is equipped with runs for cross-country skiing, total length of them being 38 km. There is every condition for snowboard riding - you are always welcome to visit one of the four snowboard parks or a half-pipe. Appropriate relief and abundant snow cover on mountainsides make the place enjoyable for wildland riding.
Other leisure activities
The village is a home to Allegria Spa health center with saunas, solariums, spas and massage rooms where you are introduced to various spa services. You can go to a show at a theater or watch a film at the movies, otherwise you are welcome to attend local art galleries. In a mountain village you will find a golf club, operating since 1982, in which the fields are ready for play the whole year round. Tourists at the resort can go to a swimming pool, go skating or play hockey. You can walk on various trails or ascend the mountains in snowshoes and ride snowmobiles as well as drive sleighs across the area.
Accommodation
Beaver Creek offers a rich choice in comfortable hotels of various service type, the best ones being Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & SPA 5*, Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch 5*, The Pines Lodge and A RockResort 5*. Four-star hotels are also represented in full. Besides, there are limited-service mini-hotels, hostel, chalets, private villas and cottages.
Places to eat
Breakfasts are served in hotels and are usually included in the cost of accommodation. Beaver Creek has plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants - both in hotels, in the mountain village and on the mountainsides. Tourists are often attracted to the SaddleRidge - a theme restaurant transformed into a Wild West saloon. In Beaver Creek's bars and restaurants you can try Belgian, Swiss, American, Italian and Japanese cuisines. Dusty Boot Saloon, a bar on the mountainsides, is popular due to the abundance of tequila there.
Shopping
Shopping facilities are limited, although there are sports shops where you can buy skis, snowboards and gear; curio shops are also available.
Out and about
The main showplace of Beaver Creek is an ancient rural-style chapel. Offered to you are tours to the Holy Cross Wilderness Area national sanctuary, sled dog races as well as contests among tourists.
