Grammar

beat/beaten

If I were to say,

"We had the juniors beat"

Would that be okay, or would it have to be "we had the juniors beaten?" Also, this is rhyming, so theoretically, do I have poetic license? Still, I would like to know which one is correct. Thank you so much!

The dictionary gives "beaten" or "beat" as the past participle, so the poetic license is all yours.
