bearing

'First of all, Dicken's greatness as a novelist is not disputed. My own preferences, influenced as they are by my own personal temperament, my own personal experiences, etc., have no bearing on the objective fact of Dicken's greatness.'

If we could find another word to substitute for 'bearing', what could that word be?

"impact" would work well. The last part is still somewhat weird though because you are kind of stating an opinion (Dickens's greatness) as a fact...make sure that is what you want to do

Yes it should be 'Dickens'Emotion: embarrassed; but I wasn't prefessing my own opinion- I've never read any Dickens. Thanks for the explanation;
