Bear the responsibility

Can one say: Richer countries BEAR THEIR SHARE OF RESPONSIBILITY for third World problems? Or it's a fixed expression: bear the responsibility?
Thank you!

Top answer

The concept that 'Richer countries must bear their share of responsibility for Third World problems' is a 'White Man's Burden' trope from the 19th Century to cover hegemony. Third World 'problems' become 'clients', then 'rice tents'. Hey, just tip the Gatekeepers, and bicycle those aid funds!!

Yes. "third World" is incorrect capitalisation though. Capitalise both words or neither.
