bear petrol costs

Hi teachers,
Could you possibly correct the sentence below for me?:

Mr A : May I borrow the company car to go to the National Park?
Director :Yes, you can use the company car to go there on condition that you must bear the petrol /gasoline costs.

You can use the word "cover" instead of "bear", i.e. "... you must cover the petrol costs." Or to make it even clearer: "... you must cover the petrol costs yourself."

In this case 'bear 'is used like 'carry'. In other words...'you need to carry the petrol costs' the same way you would carry a load or other burden e.g. financial.
