Be vs be of

hey guys, I copy parts of the lyrics from Shadow of the sun by Audiosalve. Here you go:

Once upon a time, I was of my mind to lay your burden down.

I don't understandy the usage of "was of". Can someone tell how to use it. Would it great if you get me some other examples to explain it. Also I don't know what is the difference between "see of" and "see".

Thanks!

Anonymous I was of my mind This makes no sense to me. The expression is to be of a mind to do something and it means to be inclined to do it, to feel like doing it. I am of a mind to complain about this.
