Be usual self

I made up the following sentence for someone who is in ICU in India:

I hope he feels better and be is usual self soon!

Is it grammatically correct? Is it an example of "subjunctive"? Does "be" make sense?

No, not at all. 'Hope' does not use subjunctive clauses; it is 'wish' that uses subjunctive clauses.
