Could you please tell me if both of the sentences sentences are acceptable?

I was to have done it on Friday but I didn't

I was to do it on Friday but I didn't.

1.As regards your first sentence that "I was to have done it on friday but i didn't"
This is absolutely perfect.It means that the friday in question has passed and you didn't do what you were supposed to have done.
2.But in relation to second sentence i can say that "I was supposed to do on friday"
In this the use of word i didn't is incorrect.It means that the friday has not arrived,b

I find both sentences correct but I would probably not use the first one myself. The second sentence is often a little longer: I was [supposed] to do it on Friday but I didn't. Omitting 'supposed' makes it sound a little more formal to my ear.

It is not a question of sounding formal to ear.It is a question of eliminating the ambiguity as a result of such seemingly confusing sentences.
