Be thought of as...

Hi all,

I have a grammatical question. Here are the sentences:
Someone was thought of as being abnormal and sometimes even a disease.
Someone was thought of as abnormal and sometimes even a disease.
Which one is correct? Should I use "being" in this sentence? Why or why not?
Thanks for your kindly help!

Thank you, Clive.

Ha, it's not a complete sentence since I forget the whole sentence.
It may be like this: Left-hander was thought of as being abnormal and sometimes even a disease.
Sorry, I'm not sure whether it's the original sentence. : P

Thank you so much for your help, Clive.

Hi,

Left-handed people were thought of as abnormal and sometimes even as the victims of a disease.
