are all these verbs possible with fascinated or is one/two more correct/common than other(s)?

The example I have is: "I went to London and I stayed fascinated with the city". Is this sentence correct?

This isn't really how we would say it.

I went to London, and since then I have always been fascinated by that city.

That's probably not what you expected, but we wouldn't say 'stayed fascinated'.
