Be solved

Hi guys!

Is it correct to say:

it is important that the problem of pollution faced by modern society be solved in the short term as air traffic constantly increases, though, the world undergoes economic challenges

or do I have to say "will be solved"?
Could you refer me to appropriate grammar rules?

cheers
