I'd choose C though I don't know what meaning "fair" would be. Fair here has the meaning of "the only real thing they can show". There is an idiom taht is appropriate here: "show one's true colors" means "it can be seen who they really are".

2. She is capable of __ sarcasm when she puts her mind to it.
A.Striking ; B.sharpening; C.slicing; D.biting;
I'd choose D but really I don't understand the sentence. I guess she can subdue people who tend to jeer or quip when she wants.

3. We have been able to use these splendid premises this evening by __ of Headmaster and governors.
A.Courtesy; B.thanks; C.permission D.allowance
I'm confused between A and C because they seem to have the same meaning. Anyway, I'd choose A. Permission is more formal and it seems to show strict and official rules which allow you to use them. Courtesy means "civility" and they were not forced to do it but they showed their inclination.

I'd choose D but my teacher chose A. Both are fine. And Google shows about nine millions of examples of using "deeply missed".

I'd choose D but my teacher chose A. This is rather complicated question without context. "Could" show less probability of the event. "Will" is used to make some kind of prediction.
