Be reciprocated

Hi.

When someone does this, it marks good communication and shows us that our interest is reciprocated.

Does it mean that the interest is only felt reciprocally, or is it shown reciprocally?

Thanks in advance!

Neither. The other person reciprocates our interest in them, shows that our interest in them is returned in response.

When someone does this, it marks good communication and shows us that our interest is reciprocated (by them).
