After the (second) word should in bold, should I add the be?
1. It's Mary (his wife) that he should be proud of. In fact, his sons should as well.
2. It's Mary (his wife) that he should be proud of. In fact, his sons should be as well.
(The speaker has some reason to believe that John and his sons should be proud of Mary.)

I would add the 'be'. I think a lot of people might accept it without the 'be', but just to be sure you're understood easily, it's better to add the 'be'.
