"Be like......"

I've been re-watching Game of Thrones and in 6th season one character says, "Be like we were never there at all".
Q1: What does "Be like" mean in above sentence, is it same as "It would be like....."?
Q2: Is it American or British to say "Be like....." leaving the "It would" part out, at the beginning of a sentence?
