Be expected in this sentence?(Passive or Adjective)

Hi,

I am confused about following sentence:

  • This behavior was not expected from you.
Does the word play a role of adjective here?

If we replace "from" by "by", then does it indicate the same meaning?

I mean,

  • This behaviour was not expected by you.(I think, this is a passive voice sentence, isn't it?)
and its active coice will be,

  • I didn't expect such behaviour from you
But, in passive voice we use "by someone", then what is the role of the word 'Expected" in the first sentence?

Does is act as an adjective or verb?

If it's verb, then who is the agent and patient?

Please help me out!! I am still pondering over this sentence and that makes me confused!! Emotion: sad

Thanks!!

It may be, I or we or people or your wife didn't expect such behavior(from you), right??-- Right.

You said the agent is presumed. -- Yes. We presume 'I, we, people, or your wife'; they are not mentioned in the text.

I think, if we ask a question to the word "Expected" i.e.

What was not expected from you? Answer: Such behavior
