here i have a sentence

It is vitally important that the meeting be canceled immediately.
or
It is vitally important that the meeting should be canceled immediately.

To my mind, the first sentence is the natural choice, but I don't think the second one is ungrammatical.

The putative should is not common in AmE, but it is still an acceptable alternative to the subjunctive.
