what is the meaning of "be born to a mother and father". I'm very confused about "to" there. souldn't it be "born from a mother and father" ?

No, "born to" is correct.

e.g.
He was born to wealthy parents.
She was born to a German mother and an Italian father.

Anonymous I'm very confused about "to" there
I suppose you could argue that "to" conveys a sense of bestowal. On the other hand, preposition use in English is often just idiomatic (i.e. there is no clear logical explanation of why one preposition is used rather than another). I think this may be such a case.
