Be blessed in

.

Hello...

Even though dictionaries do not mention much, “be blessed in” seems to be being used in the meaning of “be blessed with”. Is it really so?

Below are some examples that I found.

************

She is blessed in the healing of her spirit and her soul.

She is blessed in her present circumstances.

He is blessed in the company where he and his wife work.

I am a woman that is blessed in the ability to make everyone feel good

She is blessed in her children that have a passion for Christ and use their talents for him.

"to be blessed with the ability to do sth" - "with" is correct here , not "in" In the other situations, "in" is part of prepositional phrases and is not attached to the verb "to bless". This silly example may demonstrate the point: "He was blessed under the table". [Where was he at the time he was blessed?

  • [Where was he at the time he was blessed?

She is blessed in the chest and she's got it to show down below. However, she never dresses in a fashion to bring attention to her womanly features no matter how endowed they may be. (Let's Do Battle: A Black Man's View of AmericaJul 6, 2006, by Frank S.)

I see. It's like saying : He is blessed in his football skills = He is blessed with football skills = He is blessed to have football skills.

It's more of an idiomatic way of speaking than a prepositional phrase, so sorry for previous answer. Although the words "bless" and "blessing" have general application in society, this usage of "to be blessed in + personal attribute" is not common,
