Be back

Hi everybody,

If I would like to say 'I returned' (e. g. I did the shopping and I'm at home again) in other way. Could I say: 'I'm back.'?

I don't find the latter in monolingual dictionaries but it sounds familiar.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Thank you very much. Is it now an adjective or an adverb? I found it now (maybe):

Strange, isn't it? Merriam-Webster marks that usage as an adjective, and Longman marks it as an adverb.
