The only place online I can find this expression is from a discussion in avforums.com in which someone replies to a poster who is proposing spending a lot of (English) money on audio-visual equipment. It likely should be

"ouldn't mind being a quid behind you in the bank.... before all your spending that is"

Thank you, DR, for the reply. My guess has been the same, but wasn't sure. I've found this expression on the internet forum and the other one, cited in my post, when trying to Google out the meaning of that.
