Basque's question

Hi! Could you help me to find out what OPUS MUNDO means? Is it the name of real existing organisation? How should "E.T.A." be decoded? Is there an orgsnisation called the Grupo de Operaciones Especiales which was formed to pursue The Basque?

Any help will be appreciated.

E.T.A. is a Basque terrorist group who kills innocent people to get the independence of their region. I don't remember exactly the words that form the acronym E.T.A. but it means "independent Basque Country". I suppose you can search this in the google and you'll find it. As for the other names you say, I have never heard them.

Hi Eire & thank you for your replay. But there is a little problem the most sites devoted to this theme are Spanish.

E.T.A. stands for "Euskadi Ta Askatasuna", which exactly means "Basque country and freedom".

That's what I have found in the Internet. I'd help you more if I had more time.

But, tell me how is it that you are interested in this? Basque terrorism is an important question in Spain.

Hi Eire! Thanks for your help. Why am I interested in this problem? Well, the Russian government has the same problem, but now it isn't clear who was right, what reasons led to this situation. I think they don't tell us the whole truth. Thus, drawing a parallel with the Spanish history I just try to understand nature of events in Russia.

They were against the regime and they killed people related to it. However, since 1975, Spain is a democracy and they appear to have no true reason to keep fighting. We know that through good politics and the support of the people, a country can gain

Hi Eire! I've got a question to you. What about Catalonia itself? There are separatists there?

Helloooooo!

I'm sorry I haven't been able to answer before and your question is worth a time. However, I'm tired and I think I'll answer you tomorrow. But just to tell you not to confuse the concepts "terrorists" and "separatists". I'm a proud Catalan and I think that my country should be independent through democracy. There was a time (under Franco's regime) that there was a terrorist gr

Hello Vasiliy!

How are you? I'm sorry for not having written before. First of all, I want you to know that I'm very happy to explain you some things about my country. Well, let's get started!

Catalonia is nowadays an autonomous region of Spain, but Catalan people (around 7 million) speak a different language (Catalan) and therefore, there is an identity with the language and the
