Basket/basketful

Hi good morning everyone.

I am a student. Today I have found the question in my English textbook. Can you help me circle out the correct answer?

1. A basket/basketful of apples is on the table.

which one is correct? My friends said they are both correct, but my dictionary says "basketful" is right? But I think "basket" is right too? because I saw the example of it before somewhere.

can you help me?, please...... Emotion: smile thank you.
