Basin

Hi teachers,

I have a question about basins. If you're giving a little baby a bath, would you ask the little baby, "please hold onto the edge / the rim / the sides".

Thank you.

You wouldn't ask the baby to do anything. Babies of basin size do not understand such commands; they are still bemused by facial expressions.

Hi Mister Micawber,

Thanks for your remark. Actually my niece is 9 months old. I just wanted to describe her getting a steady grasp while in the basin.

I'd like to know if the followings are correct to describe where you hold on to.

1. She / Her hands would hold onto the sides of the basin.

2. She / Her hands would hold onto the edges

All three terms are common.

Hi Mister Micawber,

Would you say this baby girl below is holding onto the sides of the basin? And should plural form be used?

Thank you.

Side or sides-- since it is round, either is OK.
