Basic question...

Which of the two is correct?

a) The venue has been recently refurbished, so we kindly request that no food be brought in here or that any eating be done on the premises.

b) The venue has been recently refurbished, so we kindly request that no food be brought in there or any eating on the premises.

I'm pretty sure the first one is the right one, but I'm asking the question because (b) was actually written by an native speaker...?

Top answer

Yes, B is no good. A is better, but can be clarified: The venue has been recently refurbished, so please do not bring food or eat on the premises.
