Can I start a sentence like this?

I want to say: "The main problem of such problems" ..
but that doesn't sound good to me! Any thoughts?

To me, issues and problems are still too similar. It does sound better than the problems of such problems, but the issues of such problems still has a similar concern. Maybe the second "problems" can be substituted with a different, more specific, word. I don't have your full context so I can't provide suggestions on that.

You do need a noun to inform the reader of what things (related to the problems) you are talking about:

eg.

"The main side-effects of such problems are x, y and z"
"The main consequences of such problems are x, y and z"
"The main repercussions of such problems are x, y and z"
"The main causes of such problems are x, y and z"
