Basic english (next and another)

Hello teachers,

Are these correctly said?

"One time he acts fine and another time he doesn't."

"One time he acts fine and the next he does not."

If correct please let me know the other ways of using them as well.

Thank you.

"another" isn't wrong, but it doesn't sound as good to me as "next". Here's what I always say: One time he acts fine, and the next time he doesn't. CJ
