Is it grammatically correct to leave “do” out of the sentences, or it is just frowned upon? For example, “do” seems to come from someone who is on the fence, not sure whether or not the person loves them.
If you love me, let me go.
If you do love me, let me go.
If we go to the party, it will be after 10.
If we do go to the party, it will be after 10.
Your understanding of this is correct.
