Based vs established

Hi! everyone,Could you tell me whether "based on" can have the same as "established on"?
As in this sentence-:A true story based this movie.(meaning a true story provided the base for that movie)
I went through the synonyms of "based and I found that "established" was also written. Can establish fit in the above sentence,if it can't please tell me some synonyms of "based on".
Thanks!
