Based on vs According to vs Depending on

This might not mean anything to you but I'm looking for the right phrase in the bold sentence. If you've seen the movie 'inception' in might be more clear.

Lets say there are 3 storylines in a movie, 3 minutes in story line A amounts to 10 minutes in story line B and 10 minutes in B equals 1 hour in story line C.

The movie is an hour and 10 minutes long.

Most of the movie is about story line C as it's the most detailed and the longest.

How would you say this sentence:

The length of the movie is based on/according/depending on the length of story line C. If it was based on the length of story line A, the movie would only be 3 minutes long.

Thank you
