Hi I maybe too old to explain this word well - I believe it's quite a new usage. If someone states an opinion from within themselves - and if it is controversial - then the basis for them saying it is entirely their own. ' That can be a complimentary reply: we acknowledge and admire whatever it is they've said because, for them, it is their personal truth.
