Bare infinitive/base form

What is the difference between base form and bare infinitive? I'm not a native English speaker, so don't mind my asking. (:

They are always identical in form, but I would say that the term "bare infinitive" is used in contexts where the grammatical purpose is that of an infinitive, e.g. "I let him go", and "base form" is used when we just mean the verb without any inflections, e.g. the form that you would look up in a dictionary.
