Dear All, could you tell me what can be meant by " baked-in sweat'?
I have found this expression in this context :
"They waited on the subway platform with two women, one with a roundcheeked baby in a stroller.
A short, squat man in baggy basketball shorts polished off a slice while
bopping his head to whatever played through his earbuds.
The air smelled of the pizza, baked-in sweat, and someone’s overdone onion rings. "

(Literally, it refers to some cooking or manufacturing process where heat is applied in order to fuse things together.) In this case, the sweat seems to permeate all the surroundings, as if it has e.g. penetrated the walls, floors, furniture.
